- The Li Ka Shing Center for Learning and Knowledge is the first phase of a two phase project.
- The second phase is expected to break ground in 2013.
Connective Elements Project
- Major regional campus planning project with multiple goals:
- To create a “front door” for the School
of Medicine
- To create a campus plan founded on an academic core and
a unifying aesthetic “kit of parts”
- To develop a significant organizing element for the new
campus – an Academic Walk connecting buildings and
outdoor areas together and to the University.
- To construct a central loading dock for the School from
which receiving and delivery to the campus can be facilitated
through the central tunnel system.
- $51.5M Project Costs
- Site: The front door will be located on what
is currently the School of Medicine South Parking Lot
- Phase 0 and 1A – utilities relocation project. Construction
will begin in April 2007.
- Phases 1B and 1C – will be completed by Mid 2010
- Program: New tunnel in front of the CCSR building,
new central loading dock located south and just west of the
CCSR building and a utilities re-location project that touches
every major utility.
