General
So as you can tell we have been busy . . . there is construction now in every nook and cranny of the old L-15 and L-16 parking lot! To help us out with the parking situation Parking and Transportation has agreed to, and has now scheduled, the pavement maintenance on the Stockfarm surface parking lot. I have pasted in their recent notice of work below. Come November and the rain, we will all be very happy that this work was completed. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience that the work causes this summer.
"FYI – summer’s pavement maintenance time is near – the Stockfarm lots running N > S from Oak Rd to Stockfarm – parallel to Welch and Campus Drive – will be impacted during the second half of July to August 1.
Work will be done in 3 phases to minimize the inconvenience. We’ll post notices accordingly as we get closer to 7/14/08.
Now is the time to share any questions or concerns you may have regarding impacts. Marguerite service should not be impacted aside from temporarily moving a little used stop (shelter) inside L-18, by Oak and Welch Rds. http://transportation.stanford.edu/images/07-08_Parking-Map.pdf "

- Top Grade will haul away the final dirt (referred to as spoils at this point) and begin placing rock for the "slab on grade" on June 3rd.
Phase 1B Utilities
Recall that the major work of the Utilities 1B project right now is moving generators so that we can create an open park-like quad at the front of the School unimpeded by the row of generators that have previously existed along Campus Drive. This is a complex project required to turn what was previously our "back door" into our "front door." The next two weeks activities will be focused on completing the move of the Clark Center generator (see attached photo of the actual move) and removing the temporary generator that is currently in the parking lot.
- By the end of the week, the generator feeders and make-up wires will be connected at the generator
- 5/28 - the fuel tank was tested with the county hazmat officials and the fire marshall
- Stanford will fill the fuel tank on 5/29
- There will be electrical inspections for the generator on 5/30 & 6/2
- Test fire alarm and response to security on 6/3 & 6/4
- Bring the Clark generator back on line 6/5 - (during this period there will be no emergency power)
- Disconnect and begin removing the temporary generator
RAF Ramp Relocation
Recall that this project is to relocate the ramp down to the RAF loading dock so that the entrance is directly from Campus Drive as opposed to through the area that used to be our parking lot and will become our main entrance or "front door" to the School.
- Final row of tiebacks are scheduled to be pull tested on May 30th.
- Final excavation to follow the tieback pull tests the week of June 2nd.
- Waterproofing to begin on the walls during the week of June 2nd.
Cheers!
