Construction Alerts

1. Walkway between Alway and Fairchild
1st Notice
The walkway between the Fairchild entrance and the Stone Complex will be slightly modified to allow for the construction of the final LKSC walkway. The area will remain open through construction. The pathway immediately next to the Alway building will be slightly altered to allow for this work. The overall route will not be changed. Please continue to travel south from the Stone Complex to access Fairchild. The work will start on Monday, September 28, 2009

2. Beckman/LKSC pathway (near the Beckman Café)
1st Notice
The exterior stairs between Beckman and LKSC will have four concrete cores removed. This will allow for additional telecommunication pathways between the buildings. The coring should not introduce significant vibration. It will create localized noise conditions. The work will start and be completed on Friday, September 25, 2009.

3. Campus Drive
1st Notice
On behalf of the University Campus Drive Realignment project: The construction on the north barrel of Campus Drive West is nearly complete, and we are preparing to flip traffic to the new section of road so we can continue work on the new South Barrel and Serra Mall extension. Work will be complete during the week of September 21st, and we will flip traffic on Monday, September 28th at 5am. A traffic flagger will be available through noon to ensure a smooth transition.

4. Arrival of the Palm Trees
1st Notice
The new palm trees that will establish the front entrance of the School of Medicine will arrive start arriving on October 7, 2009. Please expect localized delays on Campus Drive during this time.
