New Technology
Imagine a medical student walking into a three-dimensional, virtual
model of the human brain to study—in real time—its electrochemical
circuits enlarged millions of times.
Envision that same student practicing microsurgical techniques on
computerized mannequins dozens of times before operating on a real
patient. These and other extraordinary possibilities will be realized
in The Li Ka Shing Center for Learning and Knowledge.
The Li Ka Shing Center for Learning and Knowledge will feature the most advanced teaching technologies, many
of them initiated at Stanford and refined through its close association
with Silicon Valley. These technologies along the careful design
of the spaces within the Li Ka Shing Center for Learning and Knowledge will foster collaborations
not only between medical students and faculty but among academic
departments across the Stanford campus.
